Shopping Adventure

I have always loved to shop.  This summer, Caleb and I have spent many days walking around the mall, Target, Kohls, etc.  I jokingly tell Caleb that he has to promise me he wouldn't tell daddy how much we spend on these little trips.  He always laughs when I remind him of our deal :)  Friday, Matt played golf with my dad, while Caleb, mom and I went to the outlet mall in hopes of stocking up on some clothes for Caleb for the fall/winter and some clothes for me to wear to work.  Minus ruining his outfit before we even got out of the car, he was a great shopper!

Mommy, I'm tired! No more shopping please!

I'm gonna be the best dressed kid at Miss Sonya's!

Saturday evening, we went to Adam and Nanci's to cookout and visit.  After we ate, we dropped Caleb off at Grandma and Grandpa's and the adults headed to the casino for a few hours. No big winners, but a great night with some old friends!

Emmiline is a year older than Caleb.  What blond haired cuties!

Emmiline loved kissing Caleb.  We may have to watch out for this in the years to come!

5 months old!

Caleb is five months old today!  I don't know where the time has gone.  I have LOVED being home with him!  He rolled over for the first time this past Friday and several more times this weekend.  He loves to stand up when you hold him.  He doesn't like to lean against things, but want to sit up.  He is drooling nonstop, so he wears a bib most of the day.  As you can tell from the pics below, he still has those bright blue eyes! :)

One Hot Week!

As you know from my last post, Matt, Caleb, and I spent the last eight days at the lake house.  Matt's family has owned a cottage at Lake Wawasee since the 1940's.  During the summer, we try to get up there as much as possible.  In my last post, my family had been up to visit.  Matt, Caleb, and I spent the rest of the week by ourselves, then Grandpa Jim and Grandma Sally joined us on Friday.  The weather was very hot, 90+ each day, so we were inside most of the time.

Mamaw and Papaw brought Caleb a stuffed Clifford.

Great Grandma Shirley and Great Grandpa Don came by Wednesday evening to have dinner.

Vacation Part 1

Matt, Caleb, and I are spending a week at the lakehouse this summer for vacation. Grandma and Grandpa Shouse and Uncle Craig joined us for the first weekend.  The adults spent time riding the waver runners while Baby Caleb spent time in his pool.  Caleb loves sitting on the end of the pier watching the water and boats go by.  I will try to get a picture of him at the end of the pier sometime this week.

 Mom, I don't think I can move.

Rickey's first boat ride.  He loved it too!

Snoozing after a long day on the water.  Caleb has taken more naps this weekend than he did all of last week.  I think the lake wears him out!

 Speedboat ride!

 Playing underneath the shade tree.

Daddy and Uncle Craig playing sacks.  Mommy and Daddy beat Uncle Craig and Grandma!

Hanging out with Grandpa and Uncle Craig.

Playing with Mamaw in the pool.  It was so hot we decided to forgo the bathing suit!

Worn out!

 What a fun weekend!

Baby Einstein

Aunt Jenn's family sent Caleb a Baby Einstein Activity bouncer as a shower present.  He is finally big enough to use it, so Daddy put it together last week.  As you can see, he really loves it!

A short, busy week

The week after a holiday always seems so short.  I spent a lot of my time working on my research paper for my masters class (graduation is the 23rd, YAY!)  Mom and Grandma Susie watched Caleb on Tuesday and Daddy was on baby duty Thursday and Friday.

Mamaw bought Caleb a plastic pool to play in.  I'm not sure who liked it more Caleb or Rickey.

Trying rice cereal for the first time.

Cool and relaxed in the pool!

Happy 4th of July!

We hope everyone had a fantastic 4th of July!  We spent the weekend at the lake with Jim & Sally and Chris & the girls.  I can't think of a better way to celebrate being an American than spending time with family.  It was a gorgeous weekend at the lake.  We got lots of comments on how good of a baby Caleb was.  He loved seeing everyone and playing with his cousins. Caleb loves sitting out by the lake and watching all the boats and people.  It won't be long before he's out there tubing and skiing!

What a beautiful view!  We love boating around the lake and looking at all of the flags.  There is everything from IU, Purdue, Ireland, Daytona, Butler, ISU, etc.  But everyone flies the American flag !

Don't you love the onesie?  Matt's brother Andy always used to wear a Dick's Bar t-shirt.  Dick's bar doesn't exist anymore, but Aunt Jenn bought the screen print for Uncle Chris a while back.  Uncle Chris had shirts made for everyone this year.

Bridget and Maggie spent a lot of time this weekend trying to make you laugh.  They were pretty successful.
