He's here!!!

Caleb Andrew Shoup was born on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 1:02 a.m.!  He weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was 19.25 inches long. 

When I woke up on the 24th, I told Matt I didn't feel well.  I waddled around work all day and a teacher told me I had the look women get right before they go into labor.  Well, I didn't think anything about it.  When I got home that evening, I felt awful.  By the time Matt got home, I was having contractions.  We headed to the hospital and they decided the baby was ready to come out.  Dr. Boyer delivered Caleb via c-section and he had some complications.  He aspirated some meconium and had to be taken to the NICU almost immediately.  Matt and I were so excited to see him, but extremely worried at the same time.  Caleb spent 5 days in the NICU.  Matt and I were able to stay at the hospital the whole time, which was absolutely wonderful.  We all came home yesterday, March 2 and boy were we all glad to be home.  Here are a few of the many pics from the past 5 days.

Doctor's Appointment

Dr. Boyer told us at the end of December that Baby Shoup is in the breech positioned.  We hoped and prayed he would turn, but found out today he isn't cooperating.  She scheduled a c-section in two weeks, on Friday March 4th. I'm a little disappointed, but maybe this will be easier on me!  Here's one last pic of the little man before he makes his big arrival.  Look at those cheeks!

It dawned on me today that I have not posted any of my pregnancy pictures.  I didn't take very many, after all, who wants to be photographed when they feel like a whale! :)

 27 weeks- If you can't tell, I loved to wear my black t-shirt with a scarf while I was pregnant.

Last one= Baby Shower #3

Katie and my third grade team threw us a wonderful school shower!  Baby Shoup got lots and lots of goodies.  I think we have everything we need....Then again, do you ever really have everything?!?!? 

 I think all I do these days is eat, eat, eat!

The Room is Done!

It feels like we have been working on the baby's room forever!  Mom and Grandma painted it over Christmas Break, and I think we finally have it ready to go.  Notice the missing spot above his bed...that's where his name will go!  Matt and I have been calling him "Peanut" for the time being.  But what will it really be?!?!?

Baby Shower #2

Today was Baby Shoup's family shower...it was a Monkey Theme!  The food was delicious and the decor was perfect! - Thanks Aunt Carri! Of course, I forgot to take pictures once the shower started.  It's driving my mom and Matt's mom crazy not knowing the baby's name.  They tried and tried to get me to slip today, but I didn't!

Baby Shower #1

Today was Baby Boy Shoup's first baby shower thrown by the wonderful FC girls- Steph, Amber, Ali, Jenny, Maggie, and Stacey.  I was so glad everyone (the p-town girls, the g-burg group, the FC girls, and the Indy ladies plus the grandmas).  We are so blessed to have such great friends!

 From Adam and Nanci- "Smart like Mommy, Handsome like Daddy."  The P-Town group always gives Matt a hard time about everything he says and does.
