4 Months Old!

Caleb went for his 4 month check-up last Friday.  He weighed 15 pounds, 7 ounces and was 25.25 inches long!  I can't believe how much he has changed.  He is trying to sit up all of the time and tries to grab at our food.  He has developed quite a little personality.  He likes to smile and laugh out loud. If you are sitting on the blanket with him and start paying attention to something else, he starting crying, trying to say, "Don't forget about me!"

We went swimming today at Jenny's parents with Jenny, Margo, Lauren, Angie, and her kids.  I think Caleb liked the lounge chairs more than the pool!

First Trip to the Lake!

This weekend, we took Caleb on his first trip to Lake Wawasee!  Grandma Sally and Grandpa Jim have a cottage there, so we try to get up there as much as we can in the summer.  We have already realized that Caleb is an outside baby.  We spent a lot of time sitting outside on the deck and he was as happy as could be.

Rickey went with us to the lake.  Caleb's car seat is in the middle, so Rickey doesn't have very much room to lay down.  He likes to put his head on Caleb's feet.  I think they are going to be best buddies!

Grandma Sally brought out the high chair seat.  This was his first time in a big kid seat.

 Obviously, he loved it!

Hanging out with Grandma Sally.  He loves to nap when Grandma is holding him.

Great Grandpa Don and Great Grandma Shirley came down for dinner on Saturday night.  Grandma Shirley made you laugh and laugh!

Three generations: Daddy, Caleb, and Great Grandpa Don

Ready for your first boat ride.  I don't think you can move!

You were asleep as soon as we pulled away from the pier and you slept for the entire ride (probably over an hour!)  Guess you like the boat!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy 1st Father's Day Matt!  Caleb is so lucky to have you!  I can't wait for you to teach him how to play sports.  You are a wonderful father and husband.

Happy Father's Day to my dad, Jim, Grandpa Bill, Grandpa Paul, and Grandpa Don.  Caleb is so lucky to have such wonderful, strong men to learn from and look up to.

Caleb got daddy a ride in the Indy two-seater and a golf club for his first Father's Day.
 We love our shades!

Friends with a hint of lime

Wednesday, Caleb and I had lunch with Katie and Ava.  Katie and I have taught together for 7 years and took our Masters classes together.  Miss Ava is going to be 3 next week.  She loved holding Caleb and even wanted to help give him his bottle.  She was glad that we didn't bring Rickey because she thought he might, "eat my stuffed baby lamb."

I think Caleb is already half the size of Ava. Love her big eyes!

Gotta love that smile!

Friday evening we were having Coronas and decided to give Caleb a little taste of a lime.

Guess he didn't like it.

A Week of Firsts

This week Caleb had two big "firsts"!  On Monday, he went to the babysitter for the first time.  I don't know who it was harder on him or mommy!?!?  As soon as we got there, he stuck out his bottom lip at me and started to cry.  We know he is in good hands with Sonya and Karen, but it was hard for me to leave him.  Even though I'm home for the summer, we thought it would be good to take him once a week so he can get  familiar with them and I can have time to work on my masters class.

Ready for the sitter's!  When I picked him up, he was red faced because he spent most of the day crying.  Sonya reassured me it would just take him a while to get used to their routine.

On Saturday, we took Caleb to mom and dad's for his first swim!  He loves bathtime, so we thought he would love the water too!

Caked in sunscreen and ready to go!

Daddy- what is this wet stuff?  I'm not so sure about it!

Okay Mamaw, I kinda like this swimming thing.

Time with Mommy and Daddy

Matt was off for three days straight this week, so we got to spend lots of time together.  I love it when he gets to be home all day with us.

Taking a break from playing with Daddy

A new evening ritual:  Napping with Daddy

Caleb has started reaching for things.  Matt took this pic of him playing with Ollie (his octopus).

Going for a walk without his car seat!  One cool little guy :)

Three Month Pictures!

Becky came to take Caleb's three month pictures a couple of weeks ago.  He was all smiles, but by the time she got set up and got her camera out, he was asleep.  No matter what we did, we couldn't get a good smile out of him.  Regardless, Becky is a fantastic photographer and she got some great pics!  Thanks Becky!
